Pokemon Company Announces "Premiere Challenges"... Will Nebraska Get One???

It looks like The Pokemon Company will be announcing a new VGC event called "Premier Challenges". Here is some info straight from Pokebeach.com:

A new type of Play! Pokemon event for the video games called "Premiere Challenges" will run in North America from April 21st to June 23rd. Each event will award Championship Points to the top players of each age division. Just like the other premiere video game events, the Premiere Challenges will run under VGC rules and player's teams will be scanned for legitimacy. Depending on the tournament organizer, there may also be entry fees and prize support.
These tournaments are ticketed as a pilot program: TPCi has only selected 58 tournament organizers to run them and each TO can only run up to two of them during the test period. Many U.S. states have one TO running them (two possible events). Other states have more, such as California with three TOs, Texas with three, and New York with two. Canada has six TOs and Mexico has one. It is expected that these events will eventually run worldwide. We're not sure when TPCi will announce the event, but it is expected to happen soon.

58 organizers, here's to hoping we get one, either in Lincoln or nearby. We've entered a discussion with TPCi to possibly host one IF Hobbytown or a nearby location doesn't get one. More information to be announced soon.

Meanwhile, expect an announcement soon on the 1st Annual Pokecup Series.

Congrats to our Great Plains Game Festival Winners!

A big congratulations goes out to our two winners of the Great Plains Game Festival Pokemon XY Tournament! While the turnout was not what we expected, we were still able to crown two winners!

Jasmine won the Pokemon XY VGC Rules Doubles Tournament with her formidable Garchomp named "Munchie". Everyone watching the finals came to the conclusion that Munchie has achieved legendary status, in the final game of a best-of-three match to crown a winner. After surviving a dragon claw from the opposing Garchomp (no focus sash), Munchie returned the favor for a clinching knock-out win... great play!

Then there is Joclyn, who won the Pokemon XY "Anything Goes" Single tournament. Her well-raised Giratina secured some impressive victories, including a one-hit KO against a bulky Ho-oh. WOW!

Congrats to the two winners! Look forward to our next tournament.

Welcome!

Hey Guys! Welcome to the Capital City Pokemon website. Our goal is to provide premium coverage and informative competitive Pokemon video game information to Lincoln and Nebraska!

We are a NEW video game group, something the great City of Lincoln is lacking. There are hundreds of Lincolnites who enjoy the new Pokemon X and Y, but no place or group to play with other Pokemon fans. That is where we come in!

Our goal: To provide excellent video game play, both newcomers and veterans! We are currently looking for a location to host weekly leagues and tournaments. If you know a good location, let us know! We are also setting up a forum to hang out and host tournaments online.

If you are interested in joining us, drop an email to toosutogaming@gmail.com or fill out the forum below. There is NO MEMBERSHIP FEE! We are non-profit and is open to all ages!
